Miętowy Remix 8 i gf 4mx 440

Reaktywowany stary komputer. I sprawa wygląda tak że po instalacji sterownika własnościowego 96 wyskakuje monit w stylu "ubuntu low graphic mode". Wyłączyłem sterownik i instalowałem sterowniki ze strony nvidii 71 i 96, i ten sam rezultat.

Jedyna wskazówka jaką znalazłem to  http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-hardware-18/upgrading-kubuntu-from-8.04-to-9.10-gives-nvidia-geforce4-mx-440-problem-767133/   ale nie rozumiem jak koleś rozwiązał ten problem. Domyślam się że jest to związane z linux-restricted-modules, ale co zrobił że zadziałała to nie wiem.

Dodam jeszcze że przy instalacji wyskakuje monit w stylu że instalator widzi że były już kiedyś instalowane sterowniki, ale niekoniecznie przez instalkę nvidii. Nie mam pojęcia nawet jak odinstalować te sterowniki, a co dopiero usunąć własnościowe bo chyba o te chodzi.

U mnie pomogło pożyczenie od kogoś innego karty GF 4 Ti i zainstalowanie do niej sterowników. Potem podmieniłem ją z powrotem na MX 440 i wszystko śmiga. Mogę Ci swojego Xorga podesłać może u Ciebie też zadziała.

Zmiana w X.org nie dała żadnego rezultatu. Ostatecznie zainstalowałem LM 7 i tam sterowniki instalują się bez problemu.
